Service Committees


Our Service Committees are the mainstay of our Club. They provide our source of information on projects and monitor their progress throughout the year. They decide where our help is best applied.

Club Service is concerned with the running of the Club.

Community & Vocational Service For projects associated with local organisations and their direct needs and to provide help and service to the community.

International Service To provide help Internationally. This sometimes achieved through Rotary affiliated programmes.


COMMUNITY AND VOCATIONAL

Some of the Programme for 2007/2008

Christmas collections Three days at Tesco Hoover building on 21st, 22nd and 23rd December We will do the traditional session outside Woolworths too on 22nd December. We would do five street collections We would try to use the sleigh not only for street collections but to have it available for Tesco. Barrel organ for Woolworths.

Green Project with Greenford Pyramid The New development to build a nature park near Northolt Roundabout. Reverend David WIse will give a presentation to the Club on Thursday 16th August

Presidents' Cup for Musical Achievement This is an annual event and it is proposed that we continue this year

Barnardos and Cancer Research We will arrange speakers on Barnardos and Cancer Research

Talking Newspapers

Our President, Brian Watkins has been associated with Ealing Talking Newspapers for some time. The volunteers record articles from the local papers and using the provided equipment people with vision difficulties can listen in comfort

Claude Osborn Award

This is a traditional event for our club which is always one of the highlights of the year. It is proposed that we continue and budget the same as last year which is for £300 for the winner [Photos]

Scouts Gang Show It is proposed that we repeat our donation to the Greenford & District Gang Show.

Vocational Awards

Another traditional event where our club makes a special day for local unsung heroes. [Photos]

Age Concern

We hope to provide funds for some of the Christmas lunches
